west. and more rain up in the baltimore area where they have seen a lot of rain during the day today. this is the rain to the south that will make its way up here throughout the rest of the night. is it not moving through the area very fast. some areas could see 1 to 2 inches of rain overnight and into tomorrow morning. you will most likely need the umbrella as you step out. it may not be raining when you step out the front door but when you come home. the temperatures between 69 and 75 degrees. once again any rain that does fall tomorrow could be on the heavy side. >> the threat of more rain has people in the bloomingdale area on edge tonight. flash flooding turned roads into rivers. and it's a familiar scene for people who live here. erika gonzalez is live where the cleanup continues again at this hour. erica? >> again. it's a never-ending story for the folks here. but look at rhode island avenue right now. it's clear. it's clean. it's quiet. and it's dry. the keyword is dry. last night there was a completely different picture. it literally looked like a river out here. tonight, a

thunderstorms up north of baltimore. that's really where the concentration of the heaviest rainfall has been. then we're seeing a little bit coming up from the south and the southwest in parts of virginia now. this is coming up from 64. inside of 85, so this is moving up into orange county, madison county and eventually we'll see this come up into the western suburbs before it's all said and done. one last stop that takes us north of baltimore where we continue to see some showers and thunderstorms tonight. thief h as much as 2 1/2 inches of rain there -- they've had as much as 2 1/2 inches of rain there in central baltimore county and earlier they had a flash flood warning. workweek weather is coming up. >>> a developing story in maryland where searchers will resume looking for a missing boater tomorrow. the coastguard was contacted around 12:30 this afternoon after a man and woman fell overboard in bayside beach. the woman was found. the man is missing. natural resources police and anne arundel county police are helping with the search. >>> the democrats are in charlotte, north carolina, t

breaking news from baltimore this morning where several media outlets are reporting that former ravens owner art modell has died. he had been hospitalized yesterday at johns hopkins for organ failure. modell purchased the cleveland browns in 1961 and ended up moving the team to baltimore in 1996. that move made him a hero in charm city, but made him hated back in cleveland. the 87-year-old modell still held a 1% stake in the raifns. he served as -- ravens. he served as president of the nfl in the 1960s, overseeing the first negotiations of contracts with players and he was key in getting monday night football games on tv. >> what a huge name in our area. >> football. >> yeah, football. >>> it is 7:16. gwent is here to talk about this thursday weather. >> hot and sticky, you're going to want to be prepared, pump up the ac today. drink lots of water, that's the key thing in terms of our forecast. let's begin with the fox 5 accuweather radar and we'll show you what's going on because we have some rain that's developed. we're not talking a total washout here, folks, but some of you will c

people in the car into custody. officers closed two sublanes near baltimore for the stop. official says they got a call about 7:00 this morning ha a passenger was in possession of a dangerous substance. his flight was already airborne on the way to dallas. authorities turned it around and armed officers pulled that passengers christopher shell from his seat for questioning. it became clear to investigators that shell may have been the victim of a prank on his 29th birthday. >> that this was a hoax, and a pretty nasty trick was played on a passenger, and it resulted in really a threat to all the passengers. incredibly foolish and irresponsible thing to do. at the bottom line, it's criminal. >> the hox will cost tens of thousands, not to mention the disruption in the lives of dozens of passengers. >>> airne seats are about to get even tighter. united airlines is installing what it calls slim-line seats to the airline can pack in a few more passengers. they've by 17 inches long, an inch shorter, slimmer backrests, but the airline says legroom is supposed to stay the same. at the create roo

of showers and thunderstorms up in baltimore and northern sections of baltimore county. that's been a bit of a hotspot this evening. they keep forming storm after storm up there. we have been dry in town. you can see around charlottesville some pretty good rain. this is moving north of 64 now. parts of culpeper county are beginning to get in on the act and again this rain will continue to move up and through. it's not in the metro area now, but i suspect as it holds together, it will at least bring a few showers through here 1:00, 2:00 in the morning. 79 degrees now, 75 for gaithersburg, 82 for quantico. dew points are extremely high and here in town it just jumped up to 74 degrees. 76 for fredericksburg and culpeper the dew point is 75. what we're dealing with here, remnants of isaac and we're still east of what is left of isaac, so we continue with this unsettled pattern, showers, thunderstorms, muggy conditions lingering. it does look like we'll be a little bit drier as we start getting into thursday and friday before more showers and thunderstorms come back into the forecast as we get

in frederick. 83 in baltimore. 82 towards la plata. a very warm atmosphere. take a look at the heat intex. even at this hour even though we're not dealing with a whole lot of sunshine, 90 in dc. 96 toward frederick, soupy atmo. a tu stofew storms trying to ma their way toward the metro area down to the south and west. those should die out over the next couple of hours. what may not die out, though, are these showers down here toward the south. some very heavy rain down around roanoke right now. this is a boundary that looks like it's going to stay together and move right up the eastern portions of the blue ridge. we could see some fairly heavy rain overnight tonight. if you're thinking about going to the nationals game tonight, i think you're fine. will there be a brief shower? it's possible. but i think they're going to get the game in without any real problems. tomorrow we'll be watching out for the this back here. notice this line of showers and thunderstorms. this is actually a frontal boundary. this frontal boundary will help to sweep on through the area. that's what's going to help to giv
